Linda Karanian has 35 years of aerospace engineering management, business development, and customer relations experience. Her background in engineering, strategic planning, and government affairs provides the critical combination of skills required to assess the technical, programmatic, legislative, and political landscape for Civil Space and DoD programs. Key capabilities include:

  • Education and management experience in mechanical engineering enabling broad understanding of technologies and complex space systems.
  • Business Development leadership in the aerospace industry leading to sound capabilities in strategic planning, proposal management, and customer relations.
  • Government relations and policy analysis, providing insight to legislation and the federal budget process.

Ms. Karanian’s experience includes 33 years with Lockheed Martin. From 2004 to 2011, she served as Director of Space Exploration and Space Operations programs in Lockheed Martin’s Washington Operations organization. In this position, she provided leadership in developing strategies and assessing legislation and policy as it pertains to Civil Space programs. Ms. Karanian has worked extensively with management across NASA, as well as with decision makers in the Administration and Congress in guiding and maintaining Lockheed Martin’s space exploration and space transportation business interests. Prior to her position in the company’s Washington Operations organization, Ms. Karanian held leadership positions in both the mechanical engineering and business development organizations, supporting DoD and Civil Space programs.
